Dateline: Fox Mill District Park

On a pleasant fall evening the Angels took the field at Fox Mill against the Oriole. The O’s jumped to a 2-0 lead on Garrett on a quick walk, double and single, but Garrett prevailed and kept them to only two. In the bottom of the first, Mac led off with a walk and Alec singled. Walks to Garrett and Kevin scored Mac and after one it was 2-1.

In the top of the second it Mac came in a struck out the side. The Angels took the lead a on a few walks and a long, bases loaded shot to left by Kevin. After two it was 5-2 Angels.

In the third, the O’s started a small rally with a walk, but the next batter hit a shot to Eric who fielded in perfectly and flipped to Jonathon at second. The next batter drilled a hard grounder to Ben who alertly stepped on the bag and Mac struck out the last batter. The Angels continued their onslaught with two more runs in the third as Taylor and Michael led off with walks and eventually scored on some additional walks. After three it was 7-2.

In the fourth, Kevin came in and struck out the side. Michael hit a nice single to right in the bottom of the fourth, but sadly, Robby’s long fly to center was caught and the inning ended.

Kevin finished off the O’s in the fifth with three more strikeouts. They were able to score a meaningless run on a couple of walks. The game ended after 5 with the score Angels 7 O’s 3.
Coach Goldstein was very pleased after the game and said “We are really starting to look pretty good out there. Everyone played hard and we looked great. Eric’s nice throw to Jonathon was a textbook play.” Coach Grossman reached by a phone interview as he again was scouting talent in the Midwest said “Coach Goldstein told me the game went well. I was able to get the play-by-play call of the second inning from Coach Emeritus Grossman and it was a thrilling inning.”
