Dateline: Browns Chapel

The Nationals and the Mets lit up the scoreboard as they combined for 21 runs. In the end, Nationals won the offensive battle 11-10 in five innings.

There were 16 hits, including six extra base hits in the game.The Nationals held off the  Mets, as the were unable to overcome a six-run third inning deficit.   The Mets scored on an RBI single by Ty, an RBI single by Noah, and in the fourth inning and a passed ball and a passed ball in the fifth inning. Despite their efforts, the Mets couldn’t get over the hump.

Frankie had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.

The AAA NL Mets jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

The lead stayed with the RHLL AAA Nationals after the first, when they scored three runs on a double by Francis.

One the AAA NL Mets run crossed the plate in the top half of the second, making the score 3-2. A passed ball gave the AAA NL Mets life. Finally, Henry got Mason to strike out to end the threat.

Three runs in the top of the third helped the Mets close their deficit to 7-5. A single by Noah, an error, and an RBI single by Oliver triggered the AAA NL Mets’ comeback. Campbell to end the AAA NL Mets threat.

The  Nationals quickly matched the AAA NL Mets’ strong inning with a four-run inning of their own in the third. The RHLL AAA Nationals scored on a solo home run by Jake, a triple by Francis, and a two-run double by Anthony.
