On a blistering hot day at Hook Road the first place Sox lost again in a pretty boring game against the A’s. The A’s never put a ball in play, never really swung the bat much and scored a bunch of runs without hitting. The White Sox made a gallant effort in the final inning with three runs but they had dug themselves too large a hole and the A’s prevailed.

Coach Grossman had little to say except that “I thought our guys did OK considering we had some trouble throwing strikes. In this league any team can beat anyone so we’ll just have to move on and hope we can get back into our groove before the playoffs”.
