I have watched a lot of games, and not sure i have harped enough on the need for a good pre-game warmup. First of all, players need to stretch before they throw — WARMUP to THROW, do not THROW to WARMUP.

Next, it builds team chemistry to have a good warmup together.

I believe it has a LOT to do with the perception of the other team, when they watch a warmup and you do it well, it can make them wonder if they are going to win.

If I know I’m playing a good team, I do everything I can to put my team in a position where they cannot watch the other team warm up. I know this deprives us of scouting information like “gosh the catcher really throws well” but if I know the other team is good, well then I don’t need to see that.

So work on your warmup and have it go well!
