Well last practice I ran a drill that I saw online and then in the game our pitcher who did the drill had a good outing. So what’s the drill you ask? You hold a ball in front of the pitcher, they stand on mound. They stride and receive the ball in their glove. Thus blocking the view of the ball from the batter. Now they have finished stride and hips have not turned. Now they reach back and a coach behind them hands them a ball which they take with FULL EXTENSION. Pitcher then throws and turns hips and pulls glove and throws ball. I like it as it really works glove hand to block the view of the batter. I’ll have to look for it on-line again as I don’t see it now but it did work well. I like how it got the pitcher striding in rhythm with a strong glove side and throwing with good extension.
